Program: Identity Theft is best controlled when individuals create personal and familial barriers, thus the training encourages a “contagion” effect as a solution. Attendees will have common misconceptions dispelled and be instructed as to real circumstances that put individuals at risk. Attendees are provided a wealth of free resources to prevent and correct Identity Theft.
- How to define “Identity Theft”: reach beyond the misconception that it originates with a compromised SSN
- How to implement preventative measures in both personal and professional environments. Understanding how data is stolen is the primary method of protection.
- How perpetrators identify and target victims. Understanding how one is made a victim allows for the construction of effective barriers.
- How employers are affected by Identity Theft in the workplace. What steps can HR professionals take to mitigate internal risk?
- What steps can an Identity Theft victim take to rectify their situations? Resources are identified beyond “free” credit report monitoring.
Please RSVP your intention by noon on November 9th to Amanda Paustian at apaustian@norfolkiron.com
